ILT Design Description:
Modernized the learning materials by turning overhead transparency presentations into various slide decks for an engaging, intensive 4-day training course. Additional supplemental worksheets and hands-on activities were designed and created to enhance learning by utilizing a student-centered approach. Accompanying interactive facilitator guides were also produced. These guides included:
Linked multimedia files
Anchor point references
Questions for scenario based case study discussions
eLearning:
Collaborating with SMEs, the online courses were seen through conception to execution. ADDIE and backwards design was used with behaviorism and constructivism to shift learning from passive to active and allow for the introduction of relevant activities. It also innately encouraged intentionality during the design process and was an effective way to ensure the the designed content met the learning objectives of each course. Interactive PDF guides were designed and created to teach learners how to use and navigate the learning management system.
Using materials from the ILT and new resources, the courses were build into modules using video-based learning and interactive digital learning tools. The modules included original lecture format videos, as well as voice-over videos of slide decks, physical techniques, compliance examples, and much more.
Learners were guided through the courses via learning paths, which automatically saved and recorded student progress. Taking a behaviorist approach, the modules included active learning sessions and learn-by-doing exercises, so training was done faster and mastery was reached by the end of every course. Formal state-of-the-art tools were also provided in downloadable forms for continued use and development.
Throughout the courses, numerous formative assessments as well as a summative assessment were given to help learners identify their strengths and weaknesses and target areas that need work. These results also provided useful analytics that was used to improve and update the courses.
