Kate Micheal Stefanakos graduated from Utah State University with a Masters in Educational Technology and Learning Sciences in May 2020. She also holds a Bachelor's degree from USU in Family Life Studies. Before attending USU, she took two years of photography and graphic design courses at the International Academy for Design and Technology in Tampa, FL, earning an Associate of Fine Arts. Kate also attended workshops for continuing education and has earned a certificate for inclusion, diversity, and equality in the workplace and training for accessibility compliance.
Kate has over a decade of experience working with SMEs to analyze learning needs, design, and develop eLearning courses and supplemental materials. She oversees projects from beginning to project completion. As LMS administrator for nearly a decade as well, she is familiar with not only the final output of eLearning courses but also back-end management. The majority of her experience is comprised of creating online courses and infographics for adult learners.
Courses she has developed take into consideration UI and UX concepts to enhance learning, including intuitive navigation and signifiers. Her background and education in human development, photography, and graphic design are assets she utilizes to make course content engaging, meaningful, and improve learning retention.
Kate has developed and conducted an after-school learning program at Auburndale Public Library in Auburndale, FL. She shot commercial/product photography for Aubrey Organics and WaterBrick International. She has also developed ILT, vILT, and eLearning courses for The Speech Team, Inc. Currently, Kate is a senior instructional designer (EW) for Amgen, creating ILT, vILT, eLearning courses, and infographics.
